Description
Luna will utilize extensive experience and novel development of polymer composite materials to produce ultra-high temperature seals. During the Phase I SBIR, materials will be evaluated for temperature resistance, mechanical strength, compressive properties, and chemical resistance. The best performing composites will be molded into O-ring shapes and evaluated for gas sealing capabilities at extreme temperatures. This approach to developing a material solution will ensure successful transition to Phase II demonstrations in representative environments and eventual transition.
