Description
MSBAI proposes to adapt our ‘Universal Interface for Simulation’ called GURU to provide a comprehensive intelligent environment to run trajectory design and mission planning, and orbital dynamics analysis specific to on-orbit operations. Simulation support of these operations will be significantly scaled by reducing the time, labor, and expertise required to leverage space mission design, optimization, and navigation tools such as NASA’s General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT). We will partner with Professors Karen Feigh, Georgia Tech, and Tarek Elgohary, UCF. Karen is a cognitive engineer with expertise in space situational awareness. She will focus on leveraging GURU to bring high-level decision-making down to actionable plans. Tarek has expertise in astrodynamics, optimal control, robotics, and space situational awareness. He will research highly efficient and adaptable trajectory design and mission planning algorithms. Our team will explore a novel optimal trajectory design approach that integrates constrained dynamics and optimal control theory with a data-driven scheme.
