Description
In contrast to the existing trade space that limits satellite mounted arrays, Novaa has developed a fundamentally new design of phase shifter, providing compact, lightweight integration, extremely low power consumption, digital control, and uniquely low loss beamsteering. This is an extremely lightweight, solid-state device consuming virtually no power. Leveraging this innovation, rapid, high gain electronic beamsteering can be realized. This results in an extremely affordable, easily maintained phased array, not only meeting the specifications of the Link 16 satellite relay, but in fact significantly exceeding them. In all, we estimate this unprecedented array to provide an 85% power, weight, and complexity savings over conventional phased arrays at unprecedented (10-100x) cost reductions.
