Description
The objective of this proposal is to provide an execution plan for qualification, testing, procurement, and transition to domestic source for NdFeB magnetic materials and systems manufactured by Urban Mining Company (UMC). The magnetic materials will be integrated into defense munition program components in conjunction with two sub-contractors, General Dynamics – Ordinance and Tactical Solutions (GD-OTS) and MTI, a Steel Partners Company (MTI), together knows as the “Subcontractors”. The Subcontractors will integrate magnetic components manufactured by UMC into General Dynamics OTS Excalibur and Peregrine Control Actuations System (CAS) programs, and Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and Small Diameter Bomb (SBD) programs. The Subcontractors are tasked with conducting supplier qualification and material performance validation pursuant to the Technical Requirements provided by both Subcontractors.
