Description
Future conflicts will be more complex and dangerous than ever, crossing multiple domains at speeds that will render current processes and policies ineffective. There is a need to seamlessly integrate time-sensitive planning, execution, and assessment capabilities across air, cyber, and space domains to overcome our adversaries. One specific need is software to help operators perform rapid, dynamic, and cross-domain allocation of resources to collection requests and analysis. We propose to build the UNIFY virtual assistant, a set of cloud services that cooperatively meet the requirements for assisting operators in reasoning about multi-domain collection tasks and the intelligent allocation of resources to tasks. The resulting system will enable operators to reduce the time required for the collection planning cycle, more efficiently and effectively allocate resources to collection tasks, and better manage the complexities of the combined air, cyber, and space domains. During Phase I, the proposal team will conduct a feasibility study that includes: identifying the requirements of the system to be built; specifying how UNIFY will integrate with tools, processes, and data currently in the AOC environment; and developing a proof of concept prototype that demonstrates the system’s ability to assist with the complex problem of collections management.
