Description
TSG proposes to develop a compact LIDAR module for insertion into the COBRA platform that will use full waveform flash-lidar data completeness to maximize capacity for mitigation of surface wave caustic bands, multiple scatter and opacity / occlusion due to water surface artifacts. In Phase 1 we will conduct a feasibility study that considers several avalanche photodiode technologies in both monolithic and multi-chip configurations, supported with system performance model assessments. In the Phase 1 option period we will transition the feasibility study parameters to a design-for-fabrication effort based on the guidance produced in Phase 1 Base Period. In Phase 2 a exemplary pixel will be designed, built and demonstrated as such and in a limited array configuration. Phase 3 opportunities exist for the resultant receiver technology, and will be exploited in both government and commercial marketplaces.
