Description

ZeroEyes-UGV Automated Threat Detection (ZATD), utilizes our proven commercial software DeepZero combined with Ghost Robotics Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) technology enabling Defenders to detect, track, and communicate threats from a standoff location. Air Force PEO Digital has a charter to modernize its Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBDSS) program; the capability to automatically detect and classify weapons and threats across the spectrum of base security cameras will substantially increase force protection effectiveness, increase base security, and decrease required manpower to monitor and action multiple security camera feeds. Incorporating advanced analytics with automated robotic response enables Defenders to detect, deter, and delay active threats while Defenders are enroute to subdue the perpetrator. The proposed COTS solution adaptation - ZeroEyes-UGV Automated Threat Detection (ZATD) enables defenders to proactively identify threats, vector Security Forces and other first responders to the location in real-time, and maintain persistent deterrence and situational awareness over the threat. Combined with a layered force protection network of fixed site cameras, tactical sensor integrations, & UGVs, ZATD provides an unmatched capability to reduce response times and enhance situational awareness. These detections and alerts are automated and can be integrated into any existing Common Operating Picture (COP), networked mobile device such as the Tactical Assault Kit/Team Awareness Kit (TAK), SMS, or API-driven notification applications. ZATD reduces cognitive burden on security operators, optimizes autonomous alerting, and assists in deterring an active threat to the installation & Air Force property. The 5th Security Forces Squadron (5th SFS) has a national Defense-related mission in securing, protecting and defending Air Force weapon systems, air base assets, personnel and resources. Minot AFB is home to the Air Force’s most critical national assets consisting of B-52H Stratofortress’s and the 91st Missile Wing’s Minuteman III ballistic missile forces. These assets make up ⅔’s of the United States Nuclear Triad and require the highest level of security. We believe technology development under this effort could contribute to fulfilling future mission needs. The mission impact of this project on the DAF and DoD will be to enhance force protection systems through the integration of Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) into threat detection, response, and deterrence.  Incorporating weapon and threat detection with UGV mobility capabilities into the 5th SFS’ force protection efforts helps modernize force protection capabilities while reducing manpower.
