Description

AEROSENS Cabin Management Solution (CMS) is a cloud-based platform that allows real-time visibility on the status of critical safety and security equipment, providing airlines with significantly increased efficiency and cost reduction. AEROSENS CMS is the world’s first Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) based solution that is revolutionizing the aviation industry by providing in-flight and real time visibility for the status of aircraft cabin equipment. AEROSENS CMS will significantly improve on board maintenance efficiency by providing remote assistance at place of duty with no additional hardware, sensors, or equipment, other than a mobile phone, tablet or computer. AEROSENS has already tested the Real-Time Tamper-Evident Sensors (A20 Tag) and Presence Detectable (A10 Tag) sensor tags with Airbus and large commercial airlines. The sensors are in the last stage of design and final product certification for in-flight operation is expected by the end of 2020. Current digital tracking methods use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The main drawbacks are that RFID does not allow for continued real-time monitoring, and RF emissions from electronic devices can interfere with aircraft systems, preventing their usage during flight. RFID solutions also require a specialized hardware and a trained technician to operate it. In comparison, AEROSENS provides a hands-off process that decreases the time to perform aircraft safety and security checks from hours to minutes with a mobile phone or tablet. Using BLE technology instead of RFID, AEROSENS allows in-flight monitoring of all assets’ status using readily available mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
