Description
The innovative mid-wave IR detector integrated into Alphacore’s ROIC and full camera offers high resolution images for wide field of view (WFOV) sensors to surveil large areas of interest. With its inexpensive directly deposited photoconductor, and built-in advanced noise-mitigation schemes, the ROIC provides a significant competitive and performance advantage over current less-portable MWIR imaging systems that are expensive, large, heavy, power hungry and typically even require cryogenic cooling. To meet Navy objectives, Alphacore will build upon its expertise and experience in developing high frame rate cameras with extended dynamic range, including a radiation-hardened 10Kfps CMOS sensor and camera for the DoE, and a 200Kfps CMOS sensor and camera for the Air Force. The size, weight, power and low-cost (SWaP-C) MWIR imaging system will significantly improve detection range over state-of-the-art of imaging systems available and will benefit deployment by other services with ground forces (e.g., Marines, Navy Seals) and homeland security.
