Description
DARCEE Rapid Mission Planning synthesizes traditional and nontraditional data into mission analysis, generating mission recommendations (primary, alternate, and contingency) with the most up to date information. The DARCEE system is built upon AI algorithms tried-and-tested by Army and AFSOC commanders and operators in operational environments; it is designed to perform automatic mission planning analysis with real-world data, which are often dirty and incomplete. In this effort, the DARCEE Rapid Mission Planning platform will be expanded to manage the multitude of assets, including manned and unmanned aircrafts, used in medical evacuation, firefighting, civil and military disaster relief, search and rescue, and humanitarian relief operations. The DARCEE Rapid Mission Planning tool synthesizes and analyzes traditional and nontraditional data into mission information and generates mission recommendations (primary, alternate, and contingency) with the most up to date data feeds. With AI algorithms, tried-and-tested by Army and AFSOC commanders and operators in operational environments, can use the DARCEE system as a combat multiplier, performing automatic mission planning analysis with real-world data, even with data sets that are dirty and incomplete. The DARCEE capability will be augmented by our academic research partner, Dr. Martijn IJtsma at the Ohio State University, whose expertise in cognitive engineering for human-robot/automation teaming in complex work environment has been extensively applied in air and space missions. The objective of this STTR Phase I effort is to validate the product-market fit between the DARCEE Rapid Mission Planning platform and potential U.S. Air Force stakeholders, as well as complete a feasibility study to define an actionable plan to bring the AI-enabled mission planning platform into the field.
