Description
The current Q125 and future Q125A Coherent Active Source sonobuoys provide an effective method for detecting and tracking increasingly quiet submerged threats, but continuous improvement is required. Extreme Sonar will leverage its extensive experience in designing and building low-cost, compact, highly efficient Class-E power amplifiers for piezoelectric ceramic transducers to build a high performance, A-Size, transformer coupled power amplifier for driving Q125 and Q125A vertical line arrays over a 600 Hz to 1100 Hz frequency band at source levels ranging from 10V RMS to over 1100V RMS . A software-controlled frequency dependent phase matching network will reduce reflections from the load and lead to improved SL throughout the band with the greatest impact at the band edges farthest from mechanical resonance.
