Description
GeneCapture, Inc. is developing a novel, portable and rapid direct infection diagnostic with applications for Warfighter health and readiness. This innovative Sample-to-Answer technology can screen a human sample for many pathogens simultaneously and withstand the rigors of shipping to low resource or restricted areas. It is designed to be easy to use by available personnel. The solution is based on identifying the genetic signature of the pathogen using probes on a microarray. The transformation of our innovative alpha-prototype integrated device/disposable cartridge into an improved beta-prototype version is proposed. Independent testing of the enhanced system shall verify the assay performance with multiple matrices, and its specificity and sensitivity and limit of detection for several pathogens of military interest. The objectives are to improve sensitivity and turn around time to progress to a relevant solution for military operations.
