Description

The Navy needs a reduced Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) hyperspectral imaging system capable of providing 4p steradian coverage Situational Awareness (SA) from large air defense platforms such as the P-8A and MQ-4C.  While not interfering with current mission requirements, this system must be capable of autonomous detection, tracking, and identifying of multiple objects including small aircraft, missiles, and hazardous obstructions, surface ships, and surfaced submarines.  ISC proposes to solve this challenging problem by applying our significant relevant experience in EO/IR sensor system design to the development of a distributed system of ruggedized COTS staring HSI cameras feeding a processor network running a modified version of our mature, neuromorphic-inspired object and event detection and identification video analytics software. Key to the success of any hyperspectral sensor-based SA system is the ability to process the data in real-time and use both spatial as well as spectral features of the images to make a decision accurately and quickly.
