Description

Irys proposes the use of a digital platform, the Suicide Prevention Support Tool, to create a solution that will provide Air Force personnel with the ability to easily detect suicidal behaviors and report Airmen at risk to leaders that can provide assistance, a directory of mental health and counseling resources, a social media analytics algorithm to detect signs of suicide risk and/or self-harm, and a Dashboard platform which allows Air Force leaders to manage all data collected and use this data to identify and reduce suicidality across the Air Force community. Irys has extensive experience working with government and commercial sectors and has successfully launched platforms similar to the proposed project in multiple cities and communities. We believe the implementation and use of the Suicide Prevention Support Tool will help to empower all Air Force community members to spot suicide risk factors and warning signs and assist Airmen in need of help. For Airmen self-reporting suicidal attitudes and behavior, the Suicide Prevention Support Tool will help to lower the stigma associated with self-report of suicidal ideation and seeking behavioral health services and treatment by allowing Airmen to use a mobile app platform to easily and discreetly report suicidal attitudes and behaviors and seek help.
