Description
Mainstream proposes to develop a novel black water and high content waste utilization and treatment system. The system will be able to treat wastewater with a minimum Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) of 1450, 1170, and 2930 mg/L, respectively. The technology will enable the production of low tier water in conjunction with energy from these wastes, improving the Army’s self-sufficiency and reducing sustainment demands during distributed operations. Mainstream will demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed technology at a laboratory scale, and perform system analysis to verify that the technology can meet the requirements for scale up in Phase II.
