Description
The DLA has a need to identify competent and qualified domestic suppliers for mission critical items that are becoming increasingly scarce. Through the Phase I effort, Mentis will be working towards becoming an approved source of supply for the main reflector of the MMP/APA system. Mentis will generate a government owned Technical Data Package (TDP), develop the necessary manufacturing processes support long term production, demonstrate fabrication of a first article, and establish validation testing at the component level. A TDP will be generated utilizing minor reverse engineering practices due to missing legacy data. The TDP will utilize modern materials and industrial practices to ensure conformance to quality standards. Mentis will develop testing methodology for validation of the RF reflector independent of a full system test or calibration. A component level test is preferred as it validates the reflectors for their functional requirements in the lowest level assembly and minimizes possible costs of rework at a later stage of antenna manufacturing and calibration. All testing specifications, fixture designs, and procedures will be documented for future source approval documentation. Mentis will establish the manufacturing processes required to produce the RF reflector, with a first article reflector being manufactured. All manufacturing documentation will be compiled for future source approval documentation. The first article piece will be tested utilizing the testing methodology established.
