Description
Metawave has developed SPEKTRA, a compact analog radar antenna system that has provided the automotive industry with high-precision radar capabilities accurate out to 330 meters. SPEKTRA provides autonomous vehicles the range and precision necessary to operate in busy environments near humans. The US Air Force requires similar capabilities for autonomous or flight-assisted electric VTOL aircraft. Metawave proposes to modify and improve SPEKTRA for use in aerial vehicle applications by increasing the maximum effective range and improving the 2D beamsteering control, including frame rate and angular resolution, to supply the USAF with next-generation GNC capabilities.
