Description

Medicine Value Partners, Inc. (MVP) will build its Scouting Every Cure (SECure) tool that enables decision makers and logisticians to assess the medicine markets and anticipate vulnerabilities, including shortage risks. The SECure tool will provide a global perspective on how medicines are sourced, produced, and distributed that creates multiple layers of contextual connections along the supply chain and unprecedented new insights that aim to deliver the best healthcare to military and civilian populations. Phase I will include a comprehensive analysis of data inputs that provides information on how and where medicines are sourced along the supply chain. Combined with MVP's existing algorithms and data on supply chain vulnerability, MVP will start designing a dashboard that provides key metrics on medicines, including Country of Origin (COO) of medicines, as well as its key raw materials and excipients used to produce the medicines. MVP can then incorporate this data into its shortage risk indicators to provide scores for supply chain vulnerability.  The Phase I results will enable a SECure prototype tool build proposed in Phase II that will be implemented into the Defense Logistics Agency's Customer Pharmacy Operations Center (CPOC). The platform will include open application programming interfaces and be modified to specifications for integration into CPOC’s system. Additionally, the platform will be developed and implemented to provide flexibility and scale, including compatibility with other applications and tools for other U.S. Government stakeholders and consumers.
