Description
Satellite constellations equipped with advanced antenna systems can provide critical communication uplinks, navigation, and data exfiltration to terrestrial units/platforms on land, in air, and over sea. To achieve this compact and beyond line-of-sight systems with full-orbit directionality are of interest due to their ability to reduce the probability of unwanted signal intercept, increase coverage areas of individual terminals to reduce the number of platforms needed for full coverage, reduce satellite tracking demands on dismounted warfighters, and support communication from cover. To meet this interest, Nanohmics in collaboration with Texas State University proposes to develop a printable, portable, and compact UHF SATCOM antenna to support the dismounted, expeditionary warfighter.
