Description
Spectral signatures in the LWIR can provide anomaly detection, chemical identification, and enable target discrimination. While full-frame hyperspectral imaging is the ideal solution, such systems require compromises including size, weight, power, complexity, cost, and often simply do not exist at any price in a form factor useful to dismounted infantry. Recent advances in microfabrication have enabled new detection strategies. Nanohmics proposes to pursue a demonstration of a technology capable of providing high-efficiency multiband sensing in a single pixel with full spatial-spectral registration without temporal multiplexing.
