Description

Technical feasibility – Phenix Solutions Heavy Vertical Lift Rotary UAS is a Multi-Mission Autonomous Vertical Lift UAS developed to lift, transport, and deliver heavy loads. This innovative technology gives access to demanding, extreme, and remote areas.  This platform and associated mission equipment delivers a diverse set of capabilities that require heavy lift (>1000lbs) consisting of cargo or supplies that are solid, liquid, or even personnel.  This capability is built on the foundation the Team’s extensive portfolio of proven commercial solutions, world-wide; and adapted to Phenix UAS solutions.  This includes aerial fire attack, illicit crop eradication, safe transport and deliver of bulky and heavy loads at minimal cost, and without endangering pilot or crew.  The Team represents world leading design, manufacturing, and certification of aerial application systems; built over a 74 year history, of supplying innovative designs, high quality craftsmanship and proven solutions. The Team’s strategy for commercial UAS technology is to continue to expand our partnership with unmanned aircraft developers within the USAF Agility Prime Eco-System and adapt Simplex’s aerial mission equipment from manned aircraft operations to unmanned. Our success will be built on the foundation of our Team’s existing mission expertise, in-house engineering and certification acumen, our FAA approved manufacturing facility, and utilizing our existing international sales, distribution, and service network with existing customers who are demanding unmanned solutions. Specifically, we seek to provide an unmanned capability to conduct Constant Phoenix types of atmospheric monitoring in appropriate operational missions suitable for an Unmanned solution. The Heavy Vertical Lift UAS platform and associated aerial monitoring sensor suite can significantly reduce crew risk, cost, and persistent monitoring.  Currently the air-sampling mission supports the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963, which prohibits any nation from above ground nuclear weapons testing. WC-135s are currently the only aircraft in the inventory conducting air-sampling operations. The Constant Phoenix's modifications for an unmanned solution are primarily related to its on-board atmospheric collection suite, which allows the mission crew to detect radioactive "clouds" in real time.  User Defined Payloading is a key opportunity in the Defense solution being offering with our approach.  We intend to offer the opportunity to tailor the mission equipment based on Constant Phoenix specific operational needs.  This is a collaborative rapid design process that has been used very successfully with current Fire Fighting and Commercial Spray operators for over 74 years.  We seek to extend this flexibility and mission agility to the Defense community.
