Description

The proposed Phase I SBIR delivers commercial technology to USAF customers to add value to $8.8B in US DoD UAV spending over the next 10 years, and closes one of the final capability gaps in future UAV applications – payload deployment and stable flight despite projectile kickback. The US Air Force and the Department of Defense are increasingly bringing UAV and eVTOL systems into the field through Agility Prime and many other channels – and planning capabilities for the future battlefield. UAV firms are creating drones to fill these expected capability gaps – but there is one missing link in the capability chain. The ability to maintain stability and stay on course despite projectile kickback, and the ability for UAV to deploy payloads and handle large system CG shifts that come from payload and projectile deployment is essential for the next generation of DoD UAV. Rhoman is the only company funded by the Federal Aviation Administration to solve and research UAV stability despite large and sudden payload and vehicle CG shifts, and we are ready to take our technology, designed to enable the future of commercial UAV cargo delivery, and deploy it with the USAF to support the next frontier of UAV.
