Description
Aireus proposes a novel solution to add Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) capability to virtually any UAV providing the Navy with tremendous mission flexibility, a concept called Unmanned VTOL (uVTOL). Additionally this concept enables land-based operations providing broader mission relevance. Aireus’s concept is to use a Launch and Recovery UAV (LR-UAV) to vertically lift the Mission UAV (M-UAV) to a launch altitude and for recovery the LR-UAV and M-UAV will coordinate control and guidance to enable the LR-UAV safely “catching” the M-UAV for a vertical landing.
