Description

SSCI proposes to dramatically improve the lethality of collaborative weapon systems by enabling dynamic adaptation and real-time reconfiguration of waves of weapons in response to real-time bomb-damage assessment and weapon effectiveness measures.  Using a novel approach called Event Horizon Processing (EHP), onboard dynamic models predict which weapons can prosecute which targets and determines the timeline for making final targeting decisions among the team.  The EHP solution will support US Military dominance by developing technology that will overwhelm the enemy with multiple, collaborating salvos (a.k.a. waves) of heterogeneous, affordable high-low mixes of weapons/decoys with coordinated times on target.  The system will dynamically re-task the weapons to respond to pop-up threats and enemy responses.  In Phase I SSCI will adapt the existing data models and data transfer protocols for inter-weapon information sharing and will design and develop the EHP algorithm.  SSCI will, in collaboration with the government, define performance metrics and will test the algorithm against these metrics to establish utility and to inform Phase II development goals.
