Description
Target identification and tracking is a crucial component of the operation of the United States (US) Armed Forces as it can allow military assets to collect invaluable surveillance data that greatly enhance the probability of mission success. In the past, these types of operations could require significant man-hours. However, with the recent proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), these tasks are becoming more automated. Increasing the amount of data that these systems have available and improving the data fusion and data analysis algorithms will drive these assets towards increased autonomy. With the end goal of increased autonomy and improved tracking capabilities in mind, Spectral Energies, LLC (SE) proposes to develop a target identification and tracking system based on acoustic signatures. This proposed system could then be integrated into existing tracking and target identification assets to provide an added layer of data that would allow military assets to be more autonomous and more resilient.
