Description
There has been a strong trend of increasing demand for both highly complex and highly modular weapons systems that can be tailored to meet evolving warfighter needs. Modern weapons are built to be reconfigurable, able to swap out seekers, warheads, fuzes, guidance systems, and more to meet specific mission objectives. Emerging capabilities are increasingly reliant on software to meet the demands of collaborative operations, reactive behavior, and complex operating environments. Tangram Flex, Inc proposes to support the Weapons PEO Pitch Day Digital Engineering Focus Area by maturing tools to combine component based digital engineering with modern software development principles to decrease the development time for advanced modular weapons. Working with AFLCMC, Tangram plans to simplify the development of a reconfigurable weapon system leveraging Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA) and Universal Armament Interface (UAI) and demonstrating how components can be rapidly replaced to meet changing mission needs.
