Description
TDA Research Inc., and its industrial clothing manufacturing and collaborator propose to develop, manufacture and sell a simple, comfortable, lightweight, durable cooling shirt that will keep ordinance disposal personnel cool and comfortable during bomb disposal activities that protects them against heat related illness. The shirt uses a minimum of consumables. TDA’s cooling shirt technology has been patented (U.S. 9,635,889 Bl, Cooling Garment, May 2, 2017) and is currently at Technology Readiness Level 3 (TRL-3). By the end of Phase I, we will have tested a prototype shirt on a sweating manikin and will be at TRL-4. By the end of Phase II, we will have fabricated and tested several optimized cooling shirts that will be TRL 7 prototypes. These will be delivered to the Navy for testing. Successful development of TDA’s cooling shirt will result in technology transition where shirts are procured by the Navy.
