Description
Triton Systems proposes to develop an innovative sensor to measure shear stress on the surface of a rotor blade for CFD model validation. This sensor will enable direct point-wise sensing on each rotor blade to provide insight into boundary layer physics while maintaining functionality under dynamic motion. The system will integrate seamlessly with thin and contoured rotor blades, have sufficient bandwidth, dynamic range, directional sensitivity, and spatial resolution to characterize the boundary layer. Triton’s sensor system also addresses the need for effective readout during rotational operation, providing both mean and fluctuating flow quantities.
