Description
Army helicopter pilots are routinely exposed to intense noise levels during daily operations. The Army has been searching for aviator helmets with improved acoustic performance but has not found them in existing designs. Triton Systems proposes to develop and test the most promising combination of passive and active noise reduction technology that can be retrofit into the HGU-56P aviator helmet at the least weight and cost. This will provide aviators with equipment containing improved speech intelligibility for communications while also reducing long-term health side effects associated with intense noise exposure.
