Description
Model-based Analysis Using Domain Expertise (MAUDE) will enable multiple stakeholders to analyze safety and security of medical devices, and networks of those medical devices such as Integrated Clinical Environments (ICEs), based on models of those devices, without requiring the analyst to interact directly with the underlying model. Analyst interactions with the models will be facilitated by automatically generated dialogs based on the underlying device and network models, and following stakeholder-specific processes. MAUDE will display analysis results in web-based dashboards, which will help collaboration between different stakeholders, including safety, security, healthcare providers, and IT operations. MAUDE is a sequential Phase II SBIR that builds on results from the original SBIR, called Security and Safety Co-Analysis Tool Environment (SSCATE), that supports the safety and security analysis of medical devices and networks of medical devices. MAUDE will extend the previous work to develop new and mature existing tools in order to allow analysts to interact with device models and networks of those devices to perform safety and security analysis. Analysts will not require expertise in the underlying modeling languages.
