Description
INFLATE-PROTECT-DEFLATE-STORE. US PATENT 9,999,272. Revolutionary equipment protection in a durable, light-weight and ultimately collapsible form-using AIR. Protects a variety of sensitive and expensive equipment, weapons, gear and technology used by the warfighter, shop technician and logistics personnel. 360 degree inflatable protection that conforms to the object it protects, reduces weight and then deflates for compact storage (up to 90% space saving). Perfect for perilous environments like the flight line, battlefield, ship and shop. CHALLENGE/PROBLEM TO SOLVE: Currently, the Services have to choose either 1. protective BUT heavy and not collapsible OR 2. light weight and collapsible BUT NOT protective. SOLUTION: AIR ARMOR TECH - Advanced Technology Inflatable Protection System (ATIPS). Initially designed to protect the $500K F-35 Helmet (HMD). Uses an internal air bladder inside a "ballistic" nylon cover or bag - the same durable, dependable and proven bladder widely used in aviation G-suits and Life Preserving Units (LPUs). Protects a myriad of expensive, sensitive and critical gear used by the warfighter in any environment. Deflates and collapses when gear is being used, saving limited space which is either required (i.e. aircraft cockpit) or desired (almost every home or deployed location). Very little weight burden on user - even less than a soft case using foam and offering far less protection. Weight decrease benefits range from the everyday use by an individual to the mass shipping and logistics concerns where more weight often means less capacity and/or fuel that can be carried (i.e. cargo aircraft). Collapsible for deployment, storage, daily use - although this is definitely a benefit at home station, it is especially critical in deployed locations. AAT Technology is extremely well suited for other applications such as: NVG case, radio/electronics case, drone case, camera case, weapon cases, CBRN cases, etc. - virtually any equipment that requires extreme protection, weight saving, and collapsibility while case is not being used. ATIPS will help protect the Services' equipment that its users either rely on to do their job or to save their lives. Air Armor Tech: Advanced Technology Inflatable Protection System (ATIPS).
