Description

ATRIUS Industries headquartered in Austin, TX was founded to fully exploit the capabilities of autonomous aerial systems. The commercial ATRIUS Multi-Drone Depot (MDD) is a modular system that automates launch, mission execution, recovery, storage, high-speed data conveyance and recharging of multiple small UAVs for use in a variety public safety and private inspection use cases. When the UAVs are not executing a mission, they return to storage inside the MDD.  Our proposal is to modify the ATRIUS current MDD commercial solution to a Multiple UAV Mobile Launch, Recovery, & Storage Solution for Emergency Response/Disaster Response (ER/DR) Applications solution – Mobile Multi-Drone Depot (M2D2). Growth in sUAVs in Emergency and Disaster Response (ER/DR), Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA), Defense Support for Civil Authorities (DSCA), Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), and Homeland Defense (HD) applications have proven their value to First Responders. However, the need for a human to deliver, prepare, launch, operate, land, retrieve stored mission data and service each sUAV before and after every sortie diminishes the potential value by at least 10x and will never scale to meet growing demand. Currently, there are a number of challenges in deploying small UAV’s to accomplish Search and Rescue (SAR), as well as, Incident Assessment, and Awareness (IAA) missions that are critical to saving property and lives. ATRIUS has created a novel solution that reduce our airmen’s exposure to dangerous environments while gaining critical data add speeds and scale not currently available.
