Description
Using a high energy laser for fine tracking and dismantling of a fast-moving target poses a substantial challenge to a SWIR imager. It requires a fast frame rate, low noise, high dynamic range. In addition, while it is imaging an illuminator, the imager must also deal with background thermal radiation caused by the high energy laser itself. Existing SWIR imagers are generally not able to provide high speed over a large area (> 512 x 512) while also having high sensitivity. Attollo Engineering proposes to develop a camera that is capable of > 5 kHz frame rate over a 512x512 array with dynamic range of 16 bits or better.
