AUTONODYNE LLC — Department of Defense SBIR Phase II: AF193-CSO1

Description

We propose to rapidly expand a baseline capability in our unmanned vehicle Common Control Station (CCS) that can be utilized by the Air Force, other branches of DoD, and the civil/commercial markets equally.  Autonodyne is proposing to adapt many of the civil use case autonomy behaviors that we use for various UxS platforms to military applications.  Specifically, we propose to further develop a library of autonomy behaviors that can be manually called upon, or in more advanced scenarios, be automatically stitched together via a Colored Petri Net (CPN) architecture that can string together a set of high-level automation tasks for real-time autonomous control of dynamic system behaviors.  This creates advanced interactions that result when autonomous (unmanned) and conventional (manned) vehicles come together in an intelligent operational system.  We believe we can have up to eight of the behaviors functional and usable by almost all DoD airborne platforms that are using the Autonodyne RCU-1000 CCS by the end of the Phase II effort.  The set of eight chosen behaviors will be decided in consultation with AFSOC and NSW customers.
