Description

The AirMap Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) Platform is an end-to-end digital airspace management system that facilitates the secure exchange of information and services between Airspace Authorities and Industry for the enablement of safe drone operations at scale. Today, the majority of drone operations take place as an extension of a remote pilot-in-command (RPIC) on the ground within visual line-of-sight (VLOS) of the operator. But many high-value commercial applications for drones could be enabled through aviation rules that would allow flights to operate beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) in densely populated urban environments. With the growing number of sUAS vehicles in the sky, UAS Traffic Management (UTM) is critical to ensure safety and efficiency. AirMap has created an intelligent UTM platform that connects to the traditional Air Traffic Management (ATM) system operated by the FAA to provide digital airspace services to drones operating in the National airspace. The majority of the FAA’s Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) automated digital flight approvals required for flight in restricted airspace are provided by AirMap.
