Description
Currently, no standard or networked open-jet test or training capability exists for testing small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) performance (particularly with a load) in outdoor netted or large indoor facilities. The Wind Profile Generator is a scalable sUAS testing system that provides controlled, monitored, uniform and laminar air flow. It is ideally suited for enclosed test areas such as outdoor netted test sites or hangars. It provides for repeatable and measurable analysis of sUAS with controlled steady state air velocity, gusts and wind profiles. The open-jet test area allows for flying a sUAS into, through, and within the controlled air stream while monitoring performance, while providing much needed maneuvering space, especially during training.
