Description
We propose to design, build and test an innovative multirotor topology, the working name is LQ for Linear Quadcopter. With four simple rotors along the same axis, it can slither into a much narrower space than a conventional quadcopter of equivalent hover performance. Independent control of pitch, roll, yaw and heave is accomplished like a typical quad, without the added complexity of swashplates or tilting mechanisms. An optional internal combustion series hybrid module can extend the endurance from 20 minutes to several hours.
