Description
The Army has increasing interest in the use of powered parafoils for resupply applications and personnel infiltration and extraction. Powered parafoils are inexpensive, can pack into relatively small formats, have minimal launch and landing zone requirements, and require a considerably reduced logistics footprint than aircraft or helicopters. With primary use involving deployment from standoff distances into contested environments, powered parafoil signature performance is expected to be key to survivability and mission effectiveness. Cornerstone Research Group Inc. (CRG) proposes to develop, demonstrate, and deliver proven technologies providing improved survivability for powered parafoils.
