Description
Corvid Technologies, LLC (Corvid), in partnership with Jankel Tactical Systems (Jankel), proposes to design, optimize, and test a multi-axis energy attenuation (EA) seat system that will provide enhanced Soldier protection against Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) attack as well as frontal crash scenarios. Corvid and Jankel will design a wall-mounted, side-facing seating system that integrates multiple EA technologies and then develop and optimize this design through the use of simulations that are validated against subsystem tests. The preliminary design will be transitioned into a market-ready prototype and tested to confirm final performance. The process implemented to design the seating system will leverage the innovative optimization-based approach to multi-axis, multi-threat EA seating systems that Corvid developed for Phase I of this topic as well as Jankel’s industry-leading expertise in blast-attenuating seating design.
