Description
Performance optimization of airborne antennas in the presence of radome and airframes is recognized one of the most challenging problems in the radome and antenna design communities. However, the radome and airframes can be viewed as part of antennas. This Phase I effort proposes a high fidelity and highly efficient radome optimization and design tool in the presence of antennas and airframes. High-order meshing technique will be employed to model complicated geometries more accurately. A highly efficient matrix-free time-domain full-wave electromagnetic solver will be employed to analyze the antennas’ performance. The differential evolution algorithm will be used for the purpose of optimization. A graphical user interface will be developed for the convenience of the users and the software will be parallelized so that the simulation time can be reduced significantly.
