Description
CVD MesoScribe Technologies Corporation will develop advanced temperature and heat flux sensors to support hypersonic flight system testing, evaluation and application development. The Company’s additive manufacturing technology, MesoPlasma™ printing, will be used to fabricate differential thermopile heat flux sensors and thermocouples onto ceramic matrix composite (CMC) materials. Sensor integration within carbon-carbon and aluminum oxide thermal protection system materials (TPS) will be designed and modeled to optimize integration strategies. Instrumented stand-alone inserts will also be designed and fabricated to support tunnel testing requirements. Sensor performance will be demonstrated in elevated temperature environments, representative of hypersonic flight including propulsion testing, direct-connect scramjet combustor testing, and HYMETS arc-jet testing. Standard product specifications will be compiled for the high temperature sensors.
