Description

Maritime companies engage in a vast number of large volume transactions on a daily basis for multiple industries including agricultural grains fertilizers and other bulk commodities.   The Corn Association of America and The US Soybean Association report that for the 2017/2018 harvest at least 1.5 billion bushels of each crop were transported by US waters.  Third party Weight Certificates are required for the movement of these commodities. However due to inconsistent measuring tools human error and the variability of the climate and environmental conditions miscalculations can cause errors of multiple tons per vessel due to measurement variances as little as ¼ inch. This presents an opportunity to create a more efficient and consistent tool for measuring watercraft weights. Clear-Cut Solutions' handheld electronic measurement tool will minimize these variables by providing a more consistent and accurate algorithm rd for taking the precise measurements needed for the independent 3  party Weight Certificates reducing the margin of error and saving time and money for all involved.  This will eliminate the reliance on the accuracy and visual acuity of humans reading a tape measure in some very hostile and remote environments. In conjunction with this tool we utilize a proprietary cloud-based mobile app to rapidly and accurately provide the required Weight Certificates. This will bring a new level of consistency accuracy and time savings while minimizing safety risks and liability.  This will become the new standard for generating Weight Certificates in the maritime transportation industry. Everyone involved in the moving of bulk commodities from farmers and manufacturers and end users will benefit. The Clear-Cut tool will be applicable to any industry that still relies on human measurement for calculating weights and density with minimal changes to the core components.
