Description
Combat Power Solutions (CPS) was founded in 2018 by service disabled USAF Special Warfare Airmen to develop innovative technology solutions for challenges faced by warfighters. Combat Survivor Evader Locator radios (CSEL) serve as survival radio and personal locator system for downed aircrew and Isolated Personnel (IP). CSEL batteries typically last eight to ten hours of operation in the field, critically lower than the objective requirement of 120 hours. Currently, there is no charging solution in the field, putting IP at risk during survival and evasion scenarios. To solve this problem, CPS is proposing to design a silent, high-capacity, off-grid charging solution. This device will allow charging while in-use and on the move. This in-line charging solution will achieve and exceed the objective requirement of CSEL batteries, thus providing our warfighters with a battery that has unlimited duration during evasion. This device also reduces the need for spare batteries, thus lightening the load on our warfighters, a key initiative of Secretary Mattis’ Close Combat Lethality Task Force. CPS will provide a versatile battery charging solution that will provide off-grid charging capabilities that will increase the life of CSEL batteries to exceed the objective requirement while also lighten the load on warfighters.
