Description

By employing hive-like communications, adaptive sensor packages along with swarm-based collection and processing across all deployed ground, drone, and airframe platforms, a virtual, composable software environment (CSE) is formed for the rapid insertion of new capabilities into existing platforms. Forward operators can compose software processing chains (workflows) in response to changing or unexpected situations, mission requirements or environmental states during operations. The CSE allows for the leveraging of each platform’s suited capabilities, simultaneously coordinated, and dynamically utilized without the introduction of extra time, cost, and deployment overhead. This capability is readily transferable to the current sensor testing market leveraged by manufacturers of DoD duty sensors, and, ultimately, to their end users looking to use multiple modalities of sensors to create a more composite and accurate operating picture for both planning and response. Cova’s CSE creates a new paradigm of sensor communication and mission composability by embracing and enhancing the native capability of the existing mobility platforms with minimal augmentation. By allowing for swarm-like intercommunication and the passage of data and processing within, between and spanning respective mobility nodes, it is possible to increase the usability, capability and performance of individual sensors through fusion/integration into an overall sensor architecture.
