Description

Cuberg batteries are a new type of battery that advance beyond the limitations of lithium ion batteries. They deliver a step-change improvement in energy and safety. As it is a new technology, there is a predictable roadmap to optimize and design the technology for specific end use cases. Battery modules used for electric aircraft and cell safety are the main goals to work toward throughout the scope of this project. When equipped with our technology, airmen or UAS can provide better capabilities for search-and-rescue efforts, logistics missions, battlefield planning, weather assessment, and utilities. Furthermore in the event of damage, Cuberg cells are far less likely than the currently used battery technology to result in a catastrophic failure which could injure personnel in the vicinity or result in a catastrophic failure mid-flight. Cuberg, partnered with AFRL, will work toward outfitting our battery for Air Force drone use. The strong R&D background of both organizations align for a successful project.
