Description
There is a product gap for a Blood Product Heating (BPH) system capable of quickly thawing and heating fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and whole blood for use in AFSOC/SOST battlefield emergency medical operations. SOST presented D’Angelo Technologies, LLC (D5T) with this problem in early January 2019, and D5T engaged in an in-person meeting in February and continued discussions in April and June 2019. Based on these discussions and user wants and needs, D5T presents the Air Force with a Blood Product Heating (BPH) system suitable for battlefield deployment. D5T will meet the needs of the AFSOC/DoD medical missions by providing a temperature controlled, ruggedized, adaptable BPH unit that can be transported by backpack and in military aircraft, ground vehicle, and other platforms to remote locations.
