Description
Most physicians are burned out (up to 78% of doctors) from their day-to day-work; this problem also affects physicians in the Armed Forces. Commonly used technology such as electronic health records (EHRs) are a key cause of burnout. Recent data has shown that more than half of physician work is centered on EHR-related data entry rather than on direct patient care. Not only do these problems affect doctors (increased depression, suicides), patients are also impacted: burned out doctors are twice as likely to cause medical errors. Our thesis is that by reducing total clinical workload we can reduce burnout. A novel software platform (Genetik[TM]) can drop workload by at least 25% across all types of physician work and across medical specialties. The product roadmap would then include growth into other providers (e.g. nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants) and potentially globally.
