Description
The goal of this program is to develop and implement new clinical protocols combining diagnosis using the MATRx Plus system and treatment using the OASYS Oral/Nasal Airway System™ (OASYS) in treatment of Air Force personnel with OSA. This allows more efficient diagnosis of OSA and more effective treatment using the OASYS appliance in lieu of the generic mouthpiece currently in use. The combination of advanced diagnosis and optimal treatment is designed to shorten the treatment process by eliminating extra steps, allowing more accurate treatment, and getting treatment to the warfighter quicker. It will also reduce warfighter down time by 4-6 weeks. This greatly enhances the Air Force need for personnel combat readiness by getting proper treatment to the service member faster, and avoiding delays in diagnosis and treatment that can render the service member unfit to fly or not deployable for medical readiness reasons.
