Description

GenXComm proposes development of a small form factor, low power interference cancellation and mitigation subsystem that enables Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) for co-located multi-mode Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This subsystem will leverage GenXComm’s commercially available, Radio Frequency (RF)-photonic self-interference cancellation technology, Simultaneous Self Interference Cancellation (S-SIX). The proposed effort, called STAR Power, will result in a prototype EW STAR subsystem that is waveform agnostic, has low Size Weight and Power (SWaP), and can extend the range and effectiveness of tactical EW systems. Benefits of the proposed solution for integrated EW systems include: • Simultaneous operation of integrated EA (Electronic Attack) and ES (Electronic Surveillance) modes • Ability to operate at high frequency ranges with up to 30GHz of theoretical bandwidth and high dynamic range for improved threat identification. • Low SWaP using a chip-scale photonic architecture enabling deployment on tactical airborne and highly mobile ground-based platforms including man-packable systems. • Waveform agnostic STAR that provides for reuse across a wide variety of EW systems. • Ability to operate in the presence of external interference from friendly, neutral or enemy systems operating in the same spectrum.
