Description

GreenSight proposes to leverage its industry leading unmanned aircraft design and domestic manufacturing capability to develop a "popup" drone delivery system. 400 delivery drones per pallet can be shipped to a remote distressed area. Included are all logistics equipment to manage the assembly and operation of the system, including a microserver running GreenSight's manufacturing system, which walks unskilled volunteers through the assembly of the aircraft and operation of the system. These 400 aircraft can be assembled in under 36 hours by 10 volunteers, and subsequently used to deliver 15 tons of survival equipment per day over an approximate 10 mile radius. Packages up to 1kg can be carried (1 liter of water, survival kit, two-way radio, etc). This system is scalable, rapid response, and can be customized to fit the requirements of a specific natural or humanitarian disaster. Phase I of the effort will be dedicated to detailed design of the delivery drones and the microserver-based manufacturing system and production of a small number of prototypes. The drones themselves will be based on GreenSight's existing Dreamer Drone, the longest endurance aircraft available in the industry, with a 70 minute max endurance and the capability to carry up to 1.5kg. GreenSight has flown 7000 flights worldwide with these aircraft and produced over 200 of them over the last few years. The company is uniquely able to develop this technology thanks to its experience at medium rate manufacturing, domestic capability and experience assembling and operating drones with untrained personnel. Larger scale manufacturing and demonstration of the delivery drones and manufacturing system will occur in Phase II.
